Down in the Delta: A Mississippi Blues Journey

Get ready for an unforgettable long weekend immersed in the birthplace of the Blues. From Memphis to Greenville with soulful stops along Highway 61, this experience blends live music, culture, incredible food, and great company.
This is a journey of stories, rhythms, and flavors that shaped American music history.
Registration is requested by September 30th to confirm the trip. Continued availability beyond that date will depend on participation.
PRICING:
$3,500 per person (double occupancy)
$250 single supplement
A 50% deposit of $1,750 (per person) and single supplement (if applicable) is required to confirm reservation. Your final balance will be due no later than January 31, 2027.
Pricing includes a $500 tax-deductible contribution per person. A donation receipt will be provided for your records.

Arrival
March 31
Your journey begins in Memphis, TN, with arrival and check-in at The Westin Beale Street, perfectly situated in the heart of the city’s legendary music district. In the evening, gather for a welcome dinner at the iconic Rendezvous – an atmospheric introduction to the stories, sounds, and soul of the Delta, which begins your immersive cultural experience.
Day 1
April 1
During breakfast at Memphis’ oldest café, The Arcade, enjoy an engaging conversation with a historian who will set the stage for the rich musical and cultural heritage you’re about to experience. The morning continues at the Rock ’n’ Soul Museum, tracing the roots of American music. Travel to Clarksdale for lunch at Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero, followed by a visit to The Cat Head Delta Blues and Folk Art Museum, a vibrant celebration of Delta artistry and blues culture. Check in at the distinctive Shack Up Inn, a thoughtfully restored collection of cotton gin buildings and historic shotgun houses. The day concludes with a catered dinner at Stovall Plantation, followed by live music back at Ground Zero to close the night.
Day 2
April 2
Begin with breakfast at a local Clarksdale cafe before touring Dockery Farms, widely considered the birthplace of the Delta Blues. Continue with a visit to Rosedale Distilling Company for a behind-the-scenes tour, lunch, and live music. Arrive in Greenville and check in at historic Hotel 27 for a two-night stay. Dinner at the renowned Doe’s Eat Place, followed by live music at Spectators.
Day 3
April 3
Travel to Indianola for a guided visit of the B.B. King Museum, honoring the life and influence of the blues legend. Afterwards, we will tour Club Ebony, one of the Delta’s most historic blues venues, and have lunch at The Blue Biscuit. In the afternoon, explore the Highway 61 Blues Museum, dedicated to the legendary “Blues Highway.” That evening, attend a reception with local authors who share personal stories and perspectives from the region at The Folly, home of late southern writer, Julia Reed. The reception will be followed by dinner and a live music performance.
Day 4
April 4
After breakfast, strike just the right note at Steve Azar’s Mississippi, where you’ll enjoy a special musical experience with Greenville native and country music recording artist Steve Azar, complete with a boxed lunch. Travel back to Memphis with a photo stop at the legendary Po’ Monkey’s. Check in at The Peabody Hotel, then gather for a farewell dinner celebrating the music, stories, and connections made along the way.
Departure
April 5
Depart from The Peabody Hotel by 11:00am, carrying home a deeper appreciation for the people, places, and living legacy of the Delta Blues.
