A Message from Cathy Bonner - Chautauqua Academy
Dear Chautauqua Women’s Club Member,
I have the pleasure of hosting a Chautauqua Academy event powered by the Chautauqua Women’s Club in my home state of Texas on the weekend of October 18-20, 2024. I invite you to join me for one of the first such events “beyond the gates” designed to offer members and member’s friends a new learning experience. I have launched an entrepreneurial initiative after my second retirement to join my family members in a business called Mod Motels. We purchase mid-century motels and remodel them to their mid-century design offering sophisticated and boutique experiences. One of those motels is the Interstate Inn in Stephenville, Texas. We will be the first group to have a culinary weekend in the middle of Cowgirl Country.
I have worked with the Chautauqua Women’s Club leaders to design a culinary weekend with celebrity Chef Stephan Pyles who is known nationally for creating the iconic “Texas cuisine.” He will teach cooking classes and we will eat his fabulous food in a weekend of food and learning and lots of celebrations in The Seeker restaurant at the Inn. A Seeker is a traveler seeking the truth and that is the perfect definition of a Chautauquan!
I also invite you to join me for a fireside chat to discuss life adventures and share our love for Chautauqua. Space is limited and the Women’s Club is collecting registrations now so when our reservation system opens in August, we will finalize your reservation. Please reserve your spot as soon as possible online through the Chautauqua Women’s Club website. A $250 (per person) non-refundable donation to the Chautauqua Women’s Club will secure your spot and be applied to the weekend price. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Interstate Inn while introducing you to some special guests. So grab your fringe, your boots, and even your hat and come be part of our Culinary Cowgirl Weekend (Spouses/Partners Welcome!).
Best,
Cathy Bonner
