Laura Savia

Everyone has a memory of their first encounter with art; for some, it sparks a life-long love. We will discuss the vibrant tapestry of arts at Chautauqua, and how the Performing and Visual Arts team is working to provide that ineffable “spark” for longtime Chautauquans and newcomers alike.

Laura Savia has served as Vice President of Performing and Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution since February of 2022. Previously, she served as Associate Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning Williamstown Theatre Festival, where she spent more than a decade and played a major role in programming, casting, and producing dozens of productions, many of which transferred to Broadway. Prior to Williamstown, Laura served on the artistic staff of Atlantic Theater Company for five years. Laura is also an accomplished theatre director and passionate educator, having taught at New York University, Fordham University, and The New School.
