DESCRIPTION:

The hills of the Langhe region in northwest Italy are so gorgeous and important to wine and food, that UNESCO has recognized them as part of our world heritage. The land of nebbiolo, at its apogee in Barolo and Barbaresco, and truffles, hazelnuts and 40-yolk pasta will be our focus in today’s session. We will try a superb example of the heirloom grape, dolcetto, as well as a top Barolo.

BIOGRAPHY:

Tyler Colman, Ph.D. (aka Dr. Vino) connects people with wines they love. The author of two wine books and a finalist for the James Beard Foundation award, he taught wine classes for ten years at NYU and five years at the University of Chicago. Tyler’s wine writing has appeared in The New York Times, Wine & Spirits, Food & Wine, The World of Fine Wine, Forbes, the Oxford Companion to Wine, and even Bicycling magazine.
