A Word from Our President...
Dear Chautauqua Women’s Club Members,
Spring heralds a season of change and resilience, qualities that define the spirit of CWC. I’m delighted to share exciting developments that embody our adaptability and commitment to growth as we celebrate our 135th year.
We proudly introduce the launch of the Chautauqua Academy, an initiative by CWC that extends our vision and mission beyond the gates of our beloved Chautauqua Institution. To offer programming and education globally and eventually on-demand, the Academy will cater to the curious minds and adventurous spirits that resonate so deeply within each of us. It represents our commitment to intellectual exploration that spreads community and life-long learning. Stay tuned!
Moreover, our cherished clubhouse is unveiling new opportunities. In addition to full house rentals during the shoulder seasons (May-June and September-October), we now offer the charm and elegance of our historic clubhouse for nightly room rentals. Managed by our House Manager, who ensures the finest experience for our guests, a stay here includes breakfast and the promise of waking up to one of the most beautiful views on the grounds.
This season, the CWC shines with standout events. Pulitzer Prize-winning Journalist and Author Edward Humes (GARBAGE) kicks off our CIF Lectures on June 29th. Fan favorites like Brad Schrader’s Cole Porter tribute and Sally Love’s Comedy return for double features. In two fascinating talks, award-winning composer and producer Edward Barnes delves into the lives of Tina Turner and Ronnie and Phil Spector (Love Affairs to Remember). Don’t miss our Life Member Luncheon, High Tea, and Dr. Vino’s August return following our second European tour to Rioja, Spain in April 2024. For more event details and tickets, please visit our website. And remember to contribute to our Flea Boutique Tent Sale with your generous donations.
Reflecting upon my five years as President, my heart swells with love for the Women’s Club and all it represents. Our board of Directors, a mosaic of skill, dedication, and dynamic energy, also deserves your pride. Together, we are working hard, pouring our souls into enhancing your CHQ season to make it the best ever!
Remember, the CWC is not just a place; it’s a community. It’s a welcoming embrace, a beacon of friendship and intellectual camaraderie. I invite you to come and be part of something special.
With heartfelt gratitude and anticipation for the season ahead,
Kelly Ann Boyce
